Try stopping eating at 8 p.m. and drinking fluids at 9 p.m., for example. Let your body and internal organs begin to rest, go to bed no later than 11pm. “I want to be physically fit and attractive” won’t work. “I want to start running 1 mile every day” sounds much better. Here’s that little goal of running one kilometer every day. After a while you’ll have a deeper interest in the sport, maybe you’ll go out and buy more comfortable sneakers and a nice uniform, start doing extra calisthenics, eat more properly, maybe sign up for a gym or pool. In a word, you’ll get involved.

When planning your day, set yourself a goal to get at least a little closer to that goal. You can lie on the couch all day, but the meaning of your day should be this small step. This is called focus, which many successful people consider to be the most important element in achieving success.
